Four Office chooses Malmstolen for its new headquarters

In Gislaved, Four Office has created an entirely new home spanning 2,200 sqm – a workplace where every detail is designed to support what the company has worked towards since 1973: the perfectly functioning office. When Malmstolen visits the new premises, it becomes clear that work environment, cohesion and ergonomics have been given a central role in the investment.

Since the beginning, Four Office has built its business around creating smoother workdays for its customers, with solutions within interior design, IT, document management, telephony, web and coffee services. The new facility in Gislaved is therefore more than just a new office. It is a concrete expression of the company’s own vision of how a well-functioning office should feel, operate and evolve over time.

For Malin Ferman, Interior Design Manager at Four Office, the move was about creating the right conditions for both people and the business. The previous premises had become too small, and the need to grow was evident. At the same time, Four Office wanted to build an environment that reflects who they are, both internally and towards customers.

The work environment became a crucial part of the project. There needed to be space for both focus and collaboration. Sales teams needed to work undisturbed in private offices, while other parts of the organisation required spaces where collaboration could happen naturally. At the same time, Four Office wanted to create a workplace that feels warm, welcoming and carefully considered – a place where people genuinely enjoy being.

“What mattered most to us was creating a place where everyone in the company truly loves coming to work,” says Malin Ferman.

In achieving this ambition, the task chairs became an important part of the overall solution. Previously, there had been many different chairs and solutions, but in the new premises Four Office wanted to create a more cohesive expression without compromising individual needs. The choice fell on Malmstolen, where ergonomics, quality and flexibility met both the visual identity and the practical demands of everyday work.

Four Office selected several models to meet different needs within the organisation, while maintaining a unified expression through consistent materials and colour choices. Malin Ferman believes this is exactly where the strength lies – that individuals can have different models and functions without affecting the overall visual impression.

“It’s not about choosing everything, but about choosing the right functions for the right person. For us, the Pascal by DUX® seat is an obvious addition because it makes a significant difference in comfort. At the same time, headrests and armrests are not right for everyone – it completely depends on the individual’s needs. That’s why we created different configurations that share the same design language while being adapted to different people. The internal response has been very positive – I honestly haven’t heard anyone who doesn’t like their chair,” continues Malin.

Material choices

The material choices surrounding the chairs were also carefully considered. For Four Office, it was important that the textiles both work aesthetically within the environment and provide the right feeling in use – durable, sustainable and comfortable, while also becoming a natural part of the cohesive interior design. Just like the rest of the premises, it is all about creating a unified environment where every element belongs together.

The new headquarters in Gislaved is not just a new address for Four Office. It is a showroom for the company’s way of thinking, and a clear example of how workplace wellbeing, identity and ergonomics can work together. With Malmstolen as part of the solution, Four Office has created a place where design supports work, where focus is given space, and where Malmstolen becomes a natural part of the perfectly functioning office.
