Plats! chooses Malmstolen for LF Älvsborg’s new office
LF Älvsborg’s new office in Trollhättan is the second in the design concept Red Cottage 2.0, developed by Plats! design agency. The 1,300 sqm space is located in the Innovatum area, where industrial history meets a modern expression.
The design concept is an interpretation of LF Älvsborg’s core values – security and the belief that dreams can come true. “Gently modernized, the cottage brings the company’s long heritage into the future in a forward-leaning yet humble way,” says Julia at Plats! design agency.
Another important part of the project was to implement LF Älvsborg’s new workplace strategy. This means more flexible and freer seating, even though the office is not fully activity-based. “That’s why it was very important to have a chair that is easy to adjust and that suits many different people,” Julia explains. Here, the Malmstolen Active R3 became the natural choice.
“The comfort is truly in a class of its own – it feels like getting a warm hug when you sit down. We appreciate that the product range is so well-curated and thoughtfully designed, so we don’t have to navigate through an endless selection of models and configurations. Malmstolen has done the work for us. Both our client and we feel very confident choosing Malmstolen when it comes to both ergonomics and long-term durability.”
The choice of materials and textiles was made to reinforce the character of the cottage and Trollhättan’s identity.
“The textiles in the project consistently have a soft feel, with references to bed linen washed countless times, wool blankets, rag rugs, sheer curtains and kitchen towels. The local nature is of course a natural source of inspiration. We love to dive deep into colors and are incredibly meticulous about hitting the exact right shade,” says Julia. For the chairs, the choice fell on the fabric Capture 6201 from Gabriel, a quality with a high proportion of wool and a tactile, felted texture that strengthens the expression of the concept.
The result is a workplace where history and future meet – and where Malmstolen contributes with the ergonomics, comfort and longevity that make a difference every day.
We are grateful that Plats! design agency chose Malmstolen for this project. Thank you Julia and the team for your trust! Want to know more about their work? Feel free to contact Julia at Plats! design agency: julia@platsdesign.se.
